I have a brick home so only needed the soffits and fascia painted. They hadn't been painted in over 20 years and looked horrible, but what a difference! It looks brand new. A good primer was appl…ied before painting, clean lines, photographs were sent to me by text showing progress, and they finished in one day. Not a scrap of paint anywhere on the ground when they left. Very impressed! Highly recommend these guys to other home owners. more » Arvada House Painting
Climate is another factor to consider. Sunlight, wind, rain and salty weather can all wear out exterior paint. Oil-based paint is durable against wind, rain and temperature changes, but sunlight tends to degrade it. Alkyd paint chalks and sheds very thin layers when it begins to wear. Latex paint is the more durable option for very sun-drenched and relatively dry climate areas. Latex paint with high vinyl content should be avoided, however. Acrylic resin is by far the more durable binder for outdoor latex paint. Arvada Home Painting
If you have two weeks, a ladder and some experience, this makes an excellent DIY project. On most surfaces, it is forgiving of mistakes and easy to work with. Correcting mistakes only adds more time and not much more expense. However, a professional will get it done faster and with a better finish. If you don’t have 2 to 3 weeks to spare, find a professional painter near you today.
